I have been waiting several days to tell you about my find of the week. This one is extra special, I mean really, really special. But first let me start this at the beginning. Yes, there's a story to tell, so pause a minute, grab a cup of coffee and come back. You know how long-winded I get.
The book I discovered is by Ben Tanzer, who I met last year at GoodReads. He sent me a invite to read his debut, Lucky Man. Some of you who have been long time viewers will remember him. To catch everyone else up, click here for my thoughts about his book. I totally love this guy's gifted voice. It's very unique, which is refreshing.
Lucky Man was published in March 15, 2007. I have been waiting and waiting for another book to be published. Whenever I'd check on him at MySpace, I'd see him with a copy of Lucky Man. I didn't want to rush the guy by sending inquiring messages, but I wanted to know when next book was coming out. I came so close a couple of time, but stopped myself. I think authors have enough pressure without harassing emails from me.
My patience has been rewarded. A few days back, I got an announcement on GoodReads about Ben Tanzer's new book.

His new book is titled Most Likely You Go Your Way and I'll Go Mine and here's a little bit about it.
Product Description
Most Likely You Go Your Way and I'll Go Mine takes place in an early nineties New York City and follows the romance between Jen and Geoff the novel's two main characters. It is a story about fathers and sons, mothers and daughters, the value of friends, the reason its best to go out for coffee on first dates and what exactly defines being on the rebound. The characters riff on their favorite books, channel Yoda and Bob Dylan, deal with siblings and try to make sense of a world that shouldn't be as confusing as it seems to be. They also seek greater self-awareness and debate why Dallas will always be superior to Knots Landing, even as they find love, lose it and find it again.
About the Author
Most Likely You Go Your Way and I'll Go Mine is the second novel from Chicago writer Ben Tanzer. His debut novel, Lucky Man, was published by Manx Media in March of 2007. Since the books release, Tanzer has become known for his inventive marketing and networking skills as well as his well-written debut. He blogs at This Blog Will Change Your Life, which is the centerpiece of his vast, albeit faux, media empire, and in March of 2008, he launched his own journal, This Zine Will Change Your Life, which combines literature with music and street art.
That's not all. I have more. When I get books in, I like to thumb through and read segments as well as check for hidden cards or letters. It's a good thing I did. I found a surprise. Take a look at the quote page.
To blow the photo up, I cut off the bottom half. This cut off Amy Guth's quote. Sorry about that.
Anyway, I'm glancing through and see J. Kaye's Book Blog. I went "Oh my--" and choked on my own spit. I had no idea. Talk about making my day! It's going to take days to come off cloud nine.
In the meantime, there will be more posts about this book. Coming up will be a review of Most Likely You Go Your Way and I'll Go Mine as well as an interview. As a special thanks to Ben Tanzer, there will be a two-book giveaway. One will be for Lucky Man and the other for Most Likely You Go Your Way and I'll Go Mine.

AHHH! I was a "Lucky Woman" to win "Lucky Man" and I still haven't read it. That and many, many others that don't seem to make it into my hands as quickly as I would like. Being that I will have no challenge commitments in 2009, I plan on reading it then. :)
Well done! It's so exciting to see your quote on a book!
Lezlie

Meghan ~ If you can't tell by this post and the comments, I love this guy. His voice is unique and I couldn't wait to see what he'd do in his next book. My gut feeling is he'll be the type of author that only gets better with time.
I agree with you, It's so great finding new authors I love- I rush out to read everything and then it feels like I have to wait so long for the next book. Congratulations on your quote- I am thrilled for you. I will post about this giveaway and upcoming author interview on my blog.
How wonderful for you! I can't imagine what a shock that would be - albeit a pleasant one. :) I haven't heard of this author before. I will have to add him to my list.

April ~ I have run across two or three authors that are so good. Because the author is self-published or with a small press, no one hears about them. So when I discover them, I promo the heck out of their book.
WindyCindy ~ Thank you! My weekend will be filled with activities with the kids as always. :)
Photoquest ~ This has been the best week. I won a book, scarf and this. Had to pinch myself a couple of times. :)
