J. Kaye’s Thoughts

If you are a fan of horror, better yet, vampires, watching the movie previews is enough to click that buy now button or add it to your movie rental queue. I was beyond excited to watch this. The movie had such potential.

For thirty days, Barrow, Alaska, a small town on the Arctic circle, will see no sunlight. This is a great premise for evil to come, which is does, in the form of a gang of vampires. Sadly, the movie doesn’t live up to the movie trailer. The fault might be with the writers, because it surely wasn’t in the acting. The Internet Movie Data Base has nine factual goofs listed. You can click here for those.

The ending was another let down. All the heroes of this horror film won’t be walking away. If I had known at the beginning who would die, I wouldn’t have watched the movie. In my opinion, the ending was one of the biggest blunders.

This movie gets only three stars. Those would be for defined characters/great actors, no dull moments, and interesting plot. The bad ending and the serious off moments in the film brought the rating down.

We saw "Burn After Reading!" It was very funny, but really had no plot line what so ever. It had to do with the CIA. Thanks, Cindi

I was also really let down when I watched 30 Days. But I highly recommend the original graphic novels that were written by Steve Niles.

Oh how I wish I could go to the movies... : (

Well the beginning scared me! Hubby will probably make me go see this. I hate it when vampires in movies have freaky stretched out faces when they're supposed to be good guys but it seems acceptable here!

We went to see Tropic Thunder last night. It was really funny, but I don't remember much beyond the panda scene and the fake trailers at the beginning now.

naida ~ It was funny, because this was during Gustav. We would have been happy about any movie and this was a disappointment. You know it has to be bad...lol!

windycindy ~ I haven't heard about "Burn After Reading!" When it comes to movies, I have found I can handle less than if it was a book. Strange, huh?

Book Zombie ~ Then you know exactly what I was talking about. It did have so much potential. What a shame!

Ladytink_534 & Park Avenue Princess ~ We didn't go to the movies. This was from Blockbuster. Maybe I need to add that in my reviews. Sorry about that!

Lenore ~ OH YES! I saw "Tropic Thunder". What a great movie.

We watched Deja Vu this weekend with Denzel Washington. It was pretty good! Definitely a recommended movie for those who like action and suspense.

twiga92 ~ You sold me. First, I love Denzel Washington and Val Kilmer. Second, I just saw the movie trailer. It's OMG good. :)
