I just installed something called a Google Desktop on my computer. I really think it's cool. It has my To-Do list, the time, etc. There is also a Twitter gadget to add which brings me to the reason of this post. I know most of you all have join and I am the last of the followers. I just created one too - not enough space for my whole name, but I'm "mbookworm" and also following you. Twitter does feel like stalking but I've noticed that I'm missing out on some cool dialogue.
I've been on Twitter for a while, but I never know what to do with the account!
You all make me laugh -- thank you, I needed that! I'm the same way....what the heck do I do with it? I think it's kinda like the Facebook status updates, but I'm not sure.

Michele at Reader's Respite ~ I'd be totally clueless if I didn't have the Google Desktop. I have my husband on it too. He just posted that he is waiting to be let go for the day, which means, I'd better get ready for him to come home. It's like an email and instant messenger wrapped up in one.
Whenever someone posts something, I can see what they are doing. Personally, I think my life is a snoozer, but who knows. (lol) Others might not think so...of course they also might. ;) It's fun to see what everyone is doing right now.

I think your perception of Twitter as a combination of e-mail and IM is about right. But depending on who you decide to follow, you can find out about all sorts of things there.

This is one of the applications I've found on Twitter, thanks to Deb Hamel, who heads up The Sunday Salon each week. You can keep track of what you're reading with the application.
I also post links to blog entries on Twitter (when I post, that is: I've been a little quiet on my book blog lately, just in a slump). I actually have a few Twitter accounts, one for each blog, although hopefully by the beginning of the year, I'll just be down to two blogs: unfinishedperson.com(unfnshdprsn on Twitter) and unfinishedrambler.blogspot.com(unfnshdrambler. Red lady-Bonnie ~ I really hate to compare it to IMing, but it is sort of. That said, I HATE IM! I'll be busy doing something and someone will IM me...lol! IM is just like the phone with no answering machine.
Twitter allows you to make comments, tell others what you are doing without the pressure to respond right away. Totally have fallen in love with it.
