2009 eBook Reading Challenge

This challenge is for readers who love eBooks or would like to explore more in 2009. I currently have five or six eBooks and this would be a fun way to get them read.

Guidelines:

1. You can join anytime as long as you don’t start reading to your books prior to 2009.

2. Read 10 eBooks in 2009.

3. Overlaps with other challenges are fine.

4. When you sign up under Mr. Linky, list the direct link to your post where your eBooks will be listed. If you list just your blog’s URL, it will be removed.

If you’ll be posting your challenges on your sidebar, then please put the button up and link before signing up.

5. You do not have to list your books ahead of time. If you decide to, you can change them as you go. Feel free to remove or add titles as needed.

Post/Link your reviews here. (Optional)

If you have any questions, feel free to ask below or email me at jkayeoldner@yahoo.com. Comments usually get a quicker response.

I am very excited about this challenge. I received the Amazon Kindle for my birthday (right before the 11-13 week wait was posted on that website) and have enjoyed playing with it thus far. I have downloaded mostly free,public-domain books, but this challenge will force me to become more familiar with my Kindle.

Thanks for the challenge!

This is a fun challenge. I'm already an ebook reader, so I'm joining to see just how many I manage to read in a year.

J. Kaye Oldner said...

Molly ~ I want a Kindle so bad. I'm waiting for the Kindle II. :)

DeSeRt RoSe ~ I am so glad you think so! This is my last one for 2009. Promise. :)

Veens ~ Yippee! You can join this one too!

Kerry ~ I want to be an eBook reader. I'm taking the plunge in 2009. I like using less trees, the compactness of using the device, etc.

Thanks for hosting this great challenge!!!

Yeah! I'm excited for this challenge! This is the first time that I'm participating in any challenges, so I think I'll overlap it with a 999 Challenge!

Good luck everyone!

Another fabulous no-brainer challenge for me! Definitely count me in...my biggest "stack" of TBRs is on my Mobi reader...I believe I have about 500 unread there.

Question do online novels count as an ebook because there is one I want to try? http://www.telegraph.co.uk/arts/main.jhtml?xml=/arts/exclusions/alexandermccallsmith/nosplit/alexandermccallsmith.xml

I have a few ebooks I'd like to do, after all if it is not a challenge who has time to read it.

I'm going to join this - just as soon as I get the Sony e-reader my brother and sister-in-law are giving me for my birthday in two weeks (the one I'm not supposed to know anything about) :)

Michele said...

Given that I still love my Kindle, I am in!

J. Kaye Oldner said...

lorisreadingcorner ~ LOLOL! So much for the secret. In your shoes, I'd be buzzing with excitement.

Michele ~ That's right! :) Too cool!!

Not so much a secret when my brother accidentally forwards the confirmation email for me to print instead of something for work :)

I usually order eBooks from the library and download them to my Palm Centro. It really comes in handy for when you want to read but can't bring a book along.

J. Kaye ~ I officially completed the challenge today as I finished my 10th ebook for the year (although I still have to do the review). I'm going to keep on listing any futher ebooks I read on my blog, but do I stop listing them here now? Do I post a completed list, or do I just do a list of however many I finish by the end of the year? Help please? What do I do now?

Jenners said...

I just got the new Kindle 2 so I decided I best sign up for this challenge!

J. Kaye said...

Tami ~ No way!

Kerry ~ If you want to, you can keep on listing the books for the remainder of the year. That's up to you. When you get a completed list, post it on your blog. Link that post to the Completed List page. This is the direct link: http://j-kaye-book-blog.blogspot.com/2008/12/2009-ebook-reading-challenge-completed.html

I stopped posting challenges in my sidebar, too many and made up a list with links to the blog posts.
