It's Monday! What are you reading? (July 6, 2009)

Yes! It's Monday...again. And that means another round of It's Monday! What are you reading?. If you decide to join in, be sure to link back to this post. That way others can find their way here and join in the fun.

Books I completed this week are:

LOVE AT FIRST FLIGHT by Marie Force

THE LAST THING I REMEMBER by Andrew Klavan

KISS OF MIDNIGHT by Lara Adrian

THE ARGYLE SWEATER by Scott Hilburn

PLAYING WITH FYRE by Mina Carter

Remember how I promised myself I wouldn't get behind on reviews? Well, I kept that promise for almost six months. Now I am so behind! I swore I'd get catch up last week. When that didn't happen, I swore I'd be this week. Guess what? I am still behind. Since I can't take the lies, I'm not swearing anymore. It will get done whenever.

I did abandon one book, not because it wasn't good. WHISPER OF WARNING by Laura Griffin is the second in a series and I haven't read the first. I'll need to get that one before reading this one.

The books for the next two weeks are:

SIAM NIGHTS by J.F. Gump

ONLY YOU by Deborah Grace Staley

THE UNFORGIVING BRIDE by Joan Johnston

SECOND SPRING by Dr. Maoshing Ni

TAKEN BY STORM by Angela Morrison

RAVEN by Allison van Diepen

Audio Book: LOST SOULS by Lisa Jackson

I might fit in another romance book as well, but not sure which. After this week, I'll be getting on the 999 Reading Challenges. I have thirty-seven titles to put down, so those two challenges will keep me hopping.

hahahee oh crack up, I'm playing review catch up & I have virtually said the same as you on my Monday post, I thought maybe I should stop reading until I've caught up on reviews and then went naah what's the point, I wouldn't stick to it!!
Have a great reading week!!

Well, I don't really get time to read books, or as many as you do.

On average I probably only review once a week or less. I do have school and I do have other things to do.

I'm so happy because it's school holidays, I'm reading "The Giver" by Lois Lowry, it's a nice short read.

Seeing your reading list makes me feel like I've abandoned my books! LOL I haven't read as many as you have, especially this week as busy as I've been. But I did finish "Nice Girls Don't Have Fangs" by Molly Harper and "Eve of Darkness" by SJ Day.
I hope your having an awesome day there when you read this.

happy reading everyone :)

Wow, you put me to shame with the amount of reading you do! And what a great list too! Thank you for sharing it with us!! I just finished Knight of Desire by Margaret Mallory, One Scream Away by Kate Brady and The Sinful Life of Lucy Burns by Elizabeth Leiknes. With all the controversy around Catcher in the Rye I think I may pick up a copy. I probably am the only one who never read it! lol! But J.D. Salinger is very protective of his characters 60 years later!

Happy reading the rest of the week!!

Lots of books for you to read! Look how many you finished! That's awesome!

I think I'm going to make mine two weeks too! Then I will spend time getting reviews done instead!

Maree ~ Be over in a bit!

Teddyree ~ I agree. It wouldn't work on people like us - readaholics. But I am proud of myself for keeping up with it for as long as I did.

Pizza ~ If I was in school, I wouldn't read this many either! :)

Mary ~ Did you read her first book?

LadyVampire2u ~ Two of the books were really thin and I did stay up all night one time. This week won't be as much. I am sort of burned out...lol!

Jess ~ Amazon said it was coming...I want it to HURRY!

Ruth Schaller ~ Thanks! I'll be over in a bit!

Lisa ~ Thanks!

Zia ~ Be over soon.

Miss Cindy ~ Back at ya!

Suzanne ~ I have gotta - gotta read "One Scream Away" by Kate Brady. I think the author is on blog tour, right?

Andrea ~ Thanks!

Kristen ~ After two really slow weeks last month, it feels good!

The Brain Lair (KB) ~ I've got the next two months of reading sort of planned out. I have some to read for the review spot coming up. After those three, I am focusing strictly on the 999 Reading Challenges. I really want to do those.

Have fun with your reading!

I need to get caught up on reviews as well, although since I read less books, i is a smaller backlog to get through :-).

J. Kaye said...

imbookingit ~ And it's not a good feeling when that happens!

Bella said...

What an impressive list J.Kaye. I always like looking at your list to see if there is anything to add to my list :)

I just finished Airhead by Meg Cabot, and I'm thinking I might read something Jane Austen-related next.

J. Kaye said...

Bella ~ Meg Cabot is an author I have been meaning to try and haven't. As soon as I get some of the challenges, books to review, and my personal shelf in better order, this is the author I am going to try. I think Nona has read her books.

Natalie W said...

As always you have an amazing reading list. I just finished my sister's keeper at the start of last week, which was just wonderful. Now I am moving on to
"American Wife" which is really good so far. Maybe I will attempt to write a review

I'm not gonna get much if any reading done this week - I'm out of town for work. POUT.

Added my link - not a lot read this week, but I hope to speed it up once I return to a normal schedule tomorrow!

You are going to be busy, busy, busy! LOL I can't say much either, I have a few but by the end of this week I will have a TON to read and review!

I'm so behind on reviews as well, mainly because I spend so much time thinking about how to get my thoughts out in English(LOL).

My post is up, a day behind but... it's summer.

Natalie W ~ Thanks!

Eli ~ I'll be over in a bit!

Witch Baby ~ Yes, but you have an excuse.

jezebelsk ~ Thanks!

Jaime ~ WOW! Thanks!!

MarthaE ~ I love-love-love getting your comments. After reading what you've read or are reading, it's like getting a Vit B shot. I feel the surge of energy and want to do more!

Park Avenue Princess ~ This weekly meme has helped keep me on track. If I fall behind, it's never for very long.

Ladybug ~ I feel better knowing I am not the only one.

I'm ashamed to say that I wasn't feeling too good last week, so I didn't complete any of the books I had planned last week, so... my list is exactly the same as it was. I have to finish "A Land Remembered" for my book club meeting on Thursday.... haven't even started it yet (oops). Talk to you next Monday.

J. Kaye said...

Bill and Lorie Shewbridge ~ Next week won't be as good. I've lost two days of reading time.

Veens said...

wow! my monday post is a bit late :)

have a nice week ahead!

I am doing an interview with Marie Force on Friday - but didn't get to read the book. I did just check out Line of Scrimmage from our library though - looking forward to it. I am also reading a book by Eloisa James as she is coming to our library on Friday - I am joining them for lunch and then the book signing (I just won a package off her website last week - how cool is that!?)

J. Kaye said...

Veens ~ It doesn't matter really. :) You just join in when you can.

Kristi ~ That is VERY cool! You have got to read her books!!
