It is extremely interesting for me to read the blog. Thanx for it. I like such topics and everything connected to this matter. I would like to read a bit more on that blog soon.

Holy cats! A super size level? That's like the holy grail! LOL

I am signing up but on my way out the door so will linky later :)

I have been waiting for this one and I am excited to be a part of it!

Yeah !! I signed up.. I was waiting for u to post this challenge :)

This was the best challenge I participated in last year. Thanks for hosting this one J.Kaye

J. Kaye said...

Anonymous - Glad that you are enjoying what has come to be my obsession. ;)

Sheila (Bookjourney) - I know, and I don't know if I can do it. I am going to have to count how many I've completed this year. I plan to read a LOT more in 2010.

Shona - I've still got the library and 100+ reading challenges to post and that will be it. I won't host any more.

Zia said...

Yay a new challenge that I know I will love completing!

ninefly said...

lots of YA titles I'm interested in came out this year but I haven't been able to acquire/read them yet, so this is the perfect challenge for me =D
thanks for hosting this!

Nikki @ Bookizzle said...

Now THIS sounds like a challenge right up my alley. :)

Lexie said...

I'm signing up J. Kaye...hm. Not sure what level though. I might start at one and then work my way up to a different one...

I am going for the super size level! Thanks for hosting again this year. Will get my post up soon.

Andrea said...

I don't know if I can do the Super Size level, but I can try for the 50 book level. Thanks!

Diana said...

I'm in for the mini (12) - I'm adding them into my 2010 A-Z reading challenge. Hope to have my full list ready by 12/1

hcmurdoch said...

I am SO all over this challenge. As a YA school librarian I LOVE reading youth lit. Great idea J.Kaye!

purplg8r said...

What fun! 2 questions...

1) How do I sign up now with Mr. Linky if I don't post the challenge until Jan 1? (I guess, how do I get the link before its posted?)

2) If I sign up for the Just My Size, but read 50, can I change it as I go along?

MarthaE said...

I still have only read one YA which was really a romance/mystery with young characters! I don't think I'll be signing up for this one but I do plan to read a YA or two next year when my review schedule calms down too! :)

Pam said...

Good luck to everyone!

Whitney said...

I'm in! Thanks for hosting this great challenge again.

Jo said...

I know I'm participating in this challenge, but I don't know what level to pick ... I don't know what is realistic. For instance, 75 books in general - yeah, sure. 75 YA? Intimidating.

alitareads said...

I am most definitely in! This is going to be so much fun :)

Teddyree said...

I'm all signed up and can't wait to start in 2010. Thanks to your 2009 YA challenge I'm now a YA addict LOL

J. Kaye said...

Zia - I know. Once the door to YA was open, I couldn't close it.

ninefly -Awesome!

Nikki @ Bookizzle - I am looking forward to reading all the YA I missed in 2009.

Lexie - I know! Ugh! I want to go for the big one...and maybe I should. Then I get cold feet...lol.

Nise' - I really, really want to.

Andrea - Yes, that's me too. I know I can do 50, but I want to go for the gold. ;)

Diana - Yes! I guess I should have said that too. Combining with other reading challenges is the only way I am able to complete mine. There are two more coming and I can wrap this one with those two.

hcmurdoch - We are on our second year here, but Thoughts of Joy began this one. ;)

purplg8r - my answers are below your questions.

1) How do I sign up now with Mr. Linky if I don't post the challenge until Jan 1? (I guess, how do I get the link before its posted?)

Why can't you post about the challenge now? Why do you have to wait until the first? Do I have a typo? Most of us are writing a post and signing up now. The holidays are a bit insane and most like to get a head start. ;)

2) If I sign up for the Just My Size, but read 50, can I change it as I go along?

Yes. This is changeable. If at all possible, try to set your goal and reach it. If you fall short, no worries. There are four different levels.

MarthaE - I know exactly where you are at and it's the reason I am no longer reviewing.

Pam - Thank you!

Whitney - You are so very welcome!

Jo - I am going for it...lol! Yes, in that short of time, I decided. (lol)

alitareads - I am with you. YA is the best!

Teddyree - It's gonna be fun! I even know the book I am starting with.

Sheila (Bookjourney) said...

I've signed up for your challenge. I posted your link on my sidebar too. Of course I picked the easiest option. I'm going to try to read 12 YA books. I'm also doing the 2010 countdown challenge, and the colorful reading challenge, so I hope I can get through them all.

This one sounds fun though, I've only read a few YA books lately (being a young grandma and all - Ha-ha)

Laura said...

I'm really looking forward to this one. As it's my first year doing any reading challenges (aside from the 999 on LibraryThing this past year), I'm going to go a little easy on myself and do the "Mini" challenge to start. I'm hoping to do the "Just My Size" one in the end, but I'm aiming low right now.

Thanks so much for hosting!

forgot to say I will do the mini

Lisa said...

Okay, here's the thing, J.Kaye, I said no more 2010 Challenges. I said that, to myself, in actual WORDS. And then whilst (I actually just like using the word "whilst) browsing and catching up on my bloggie friends I stumbled accross a tantilizing button that said "2010 YA Challenge" or something equally as menacingly absolutely unavoidably going to suck me in to yet ANOTHER challenge.

I blame you.

But love you, so I'm torn.

Sigh.

ANYway, I am super excited to sign up for the Mini cuz I am a big chicken and the only other challenge I signed up for in my entire life was last year and I failed... FAILED I TELL YOU! So, I'm a little squeamish, or Squamish as I almost type-oed.

Thanks for the challenge, I look forward to following everyone and finding out about other great YA reads!

:0)

Chaotic Scrapper - I agree with you 100%.

Shy - Wow! I am so honored!

purplg8r - I didn't keep track. I will this year.

There will also be a Reading Challenge Check-in the first Tuesday of every month. You can also post your progress in the comment section there.

Carin - Oh yes! Those do. :)

Renae - Just tell me which number and name to delete and I'll do it.

Paula - Oh sure! There will be other participants signing up throughout the year.

thetruebookaddict - Did Mr. Linky come back? You have to give it time to load. Lots of people signed up for this one.

Lisa - LOL! I feel your pain. Said the same thing and just signed up for one this afternoon. ;)

JG - So glad you found it!

Mrs. B - If you find that 50 is too much, you can decrease it. There is no rule you can't change the amount.

Ronni - I am going for the big one too.

I just signed up. Do the books I already read count? I did read them after January 1st.

Just signed up :) Doing the Mini challenge right now, but depending on how quick I get the 12, I'll probably end up bumping up to the next level...My blog is new, have no readers yet, it'd be great if some of you could check it out please. :)

I know I'm kinda late but this challenge was just calling my name! It pulled me in now I'm in. I am new to this blogging thing, so this is my first challenge. I wish everyone luck and hope they do the same for me.

P.S. If anyone could check out my blog, that will help. Email me any suggestions you may have!

I'm completely going for the Super Size category. I am so excited! Now how do I get one of those counter things to track my progress?

Karen Russell said...

I'm late, too, so I'm only going for 12. I read mysteries and thrillers and could use a few more suggestions (click my name to see my list so far). Thanks for any help!

Thank you for hosting this. I know I've missed almost five months time worth of reading but I still want to try and complete it. :) I'm trying the Mini YA Reading Challenge.

Happy Reading!

I am plugging along on the challenge and loving it...doing the super size. I do have a question though, how do we determine what is YA. I have read a couple books that I think could go either way. Some of the libraries my county have them juv and some in ya. What do you think? Thanks!

I hope I'm not too late to join...can I count YA books I've already read in 2010? And I'm not quite sure if some of my reads (like Nicholas Sparks or Watership Down or To Kill A Mockingbird) count as YA.

I messed up when I signed in (sorry!): here's the link to my list:
